[Munhwa News MHN Woo Jihae reporter / translated by Jung Halim] BLACKPINK is reported to be working on Lady Gaga's upcoming album.
According to the tracklist for her 6th album 'Chromatica' that Gaga uploaded to her social media accounts on April 22th, the 10th track 'Sour Candy' has the words 'With BLACKPINK' written next to it.
Bilboard reports that "Comprised of 16 tracks, Chromatica will see Gaga taking on a set of all-new collaborators, including pop superstar Ariana Grande, K-pop phenomenon Blackpink and legendary pop icon Elton John."
'Chromatica' was originally planned to come out April 10th, but due to the spread of COVID-19 the release date has been indefinitely postponed.
BLACKPINK's angecy YG Entertainment stated on April 23 that "Blackpink and Lady Gaga regularly listened to each other's music and became fans, so this collaboration came naturally." BLACKPINK had partnered with Interscope Records back in 2018 for a chance tp break into the American market.
During April 2019 their song 'Kill This Love' ranked 41st on the Bilboard 'Hot 100' charts, and on the main 'Bilboard 200' charts ranked 24th, setting new records for a Korean female idol group, and went on a world tour across 23 cities.
The group has already collaborated with British born artist Dua Lupa on 'KISS AND MAKE UP'. At the time the track ranked both on Bilboard and on the British 'Top 100' at 36th.
