'The King: Eternal Monarch' Lee Minho, The Korean Emperor, his age, his filmography

[MHN Han Jiri reporter / translated by Jung Halim] Choosing 'The King: Eternal Monarch for his first role after his mandatory military enlistment, Lee Minho has come back in perfect form, with his confident acting skills and impressive visual flair. Much ado has been said about his role as the Korean Emperor Lee Gon, so it is a good time as any to check back on Lee Minho's filmography.

Lee Minho was born in 1987, making him currently 34 years old. He graduated from Konkuk University as a Film Arts major, and first made his debut in the 2006 EBS drama 'Secret Campus'. Afterwards, he continued to feature in shows such as 'Mackerel Run', 'I Am Sam', 'Recipe of Love', and 'Nonstop 5', either as the protagonist or as a side character.

These diverse set of roles kept him going until his breakout rol in the KBS drama 'Boys Over Flowers', where he quickly rose into superstardom. As the 'F4's center, he portrayed a cold personality, handsome looks and tall stature, and combined with his cheesy but never falturing love towards Geum Jan-di made him quite possibly the most recognized actor at the time.

After proving his stardom and his acting skills weren't just one-off with his role in 2010's 'Personal Taste', he appeared on 2011's SBS adaptation of 'City Hunter', where he featured Lee Minho in a completely different role from before, making him an unrivaled actor while still in his 20s. 'City Hunter' broadcasted in China, the Philippines, and other regions, becoming a complete syndrome.

2013's drama 'The Heirs' had him star as Kim Tan, someone with many scars, but who still manages to remain warm, having him again reach a peak of popularity not just in Korea, but in China as well, leading to him becoming the first Korean to appear on China's CCTV channel. His acting skills were recognized in that year's SBS Drama awards, with him taking the prizes for 'Top Excellence Award, Actor in a Drama Special', 'Popularity Award', 'Top 10 Stars', 'Best Couple Award', and the 'Best Dressed Award'.

2015 saw Lee Min ho in his first leading movie role as Kim Jongdae in 'Gangnam Blues'. With intense action and subtle emotional scenes, his performance garnered him the 'Best New Actor' and the 'Popularity Award' at the 2015 Grand Bell Awards, and the 'Producer's Choice Award' at the 19th Bucheon Film Festival.

2016 was the year 'Legend of the Blue Sea' premired, with him appearing alongside Jun Ji-hyun in two roles, Kim Dam-ryung and Heo Joon-jae. He once again combined the romantic dissonance between the shows multiple genres: romance, action, thriller, comedy, and was a part of the reason why the show ended with 21% of the ratings.

With him returning from the army back in April 17, 2019, he appears this time in 'The King: Eternal Monarch' as the intellectual Korean Emperor Lee Gon.

Lee Min-ho appears as the 3rd Korean Emperor 'Lee Gon'. 33 years old, a beautiful face, a graceful body, and a calm demeanor, he may seem like the perfect royal, but in reality he is introverted, neurotic, and forceful. The hottest flame is blue. Gon is so hot he became a cold individual.

He then finds himself in another world, with a vaguely different atmosphere from the world of his own, with different memories and buildings surrounding him, and a strange woman who does not recognize his royal Highness. The meeting between him and Detective Jung Tae-eul began this way.
