[MHN Sun Soobin reporter / translated by Jung Halim] Actress Song Jiho transforms into her role in the movie 'Intruder'.
'Intruder' is a mystery thriller about 'Seo-jin' and his sister 'Yoo-jin', who has come back after being missing for 25 years. However, Seo-jin sees his family changing ever so slightly after her arrival, and he begins to look into the shocking truths within the secrets she hides behind.
Known for her casual and easy-going attitude she maintained after her debut, she expressed this image of her in her protrayal of 'Mi-young', a wife who falls in love with social media. She received praise for "acting just like herself", and for portraying her "lovely" self.
She also appeared in the drama 'Listen to Love', a drama about 'a couple revitalization project', where she played 'Soo-yon', a working mom and someone true to her emotions. She showed a emphatetic and captivating performance despite the potentially controversial subject, enthralling audiences.
With her firmly defining her own image, she now attempts something new with her role as 'Yoo-jin' in 'Intruder'. With her menacing stares and terrifying expressions already being shown in the trailer, Song Jiho stated that "I was worried showing a completely different image than I did before, but after reading the script, I couldn't help but want to play 'Yoo-jin.'" With the release of 'Intruder' expecting to show her most terrifying image transformation, potential audiences have expectations high.
'Intruder' is expected to release in Korean theaters May 21th.
