[MHN Lee Jisook reporter / translated by Jung Halim] The first stills for Kim Soo-hyun in tvN's 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' as a man who rejects love have been revealed.
Premiring on June 20th, the drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' has Kim Soo-hyun transform into psychiatric ward caretaker Moon Kang-tae.
'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' is a slightly odd romantic comedy between Moon Kang-tae, a man who rejects love due to the weight of life, and a children's book author who does not know of love due to a birth defect, and focuses on the fairy tale-like love between them.
Moon Kang-tae, acted by Kim Soo-hyun, is someone without dreams of hope, and while he takes care of his brother with ASD at home, and at work takes care of patients with their own troubles, he himself isn't able to take care of himself, even rejecting love when it comes by.
The revealed images show Moon Kang-tae in a caretaker's outfit, busy at work. His deep stare, his pursed stiff lips, and a thin face with no laughter in sight contrast with his bright, cheerful expressions when he is with a patient, having audiences wonder as to his inner life.
In another image we see him pushing a cart with a heavy looking boxes in it, having us understand how he must have been silently enduring it all.
With this, Kim Soo-hyun's performance in 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' is predicted to show through an emotional depth an anxious and lonely man, who still has a bright side that attempts to live as possible.
'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' is planned to air on June 20th at tvN, and will have Kim Soo-hyun's return to K-dramas for the first time in a while.
