
[MHN Roh Pooleun] BTS and its agency Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to the 'Black Lives Matter' campaign to fight against discrimination.
According to the agency, BTS and BIg Hit Entertainment jointly donated the money to the international campaign after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by police officers on May 25.
The death of a black man has stoked anger and protest across America. Numerous celebrities across the world are showing support for 'Black Lives Matter' movement, including in Korea.
BTS showed their support for 'Black Lives Matter' campaign on June 4 with a post on its official Twitter accoung which read, "We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. We all have the right to be respected. We will stand together".
The group has participated in various campaigns against violence, including a joing campaign 'Love Myself' with Unicef.
The septet will apppear as speaker on YouTube's 'Dear Class of 2020' live-stream event, an online commencement celebration for college graduates of 2020 on Monday.
