[MHN Jung Jiyoon reporter / translated by Jung Halim] BLACKPINK's new single 'How You Like That' places 33rd on the Billboard main singles chart 'Hot 100'. This is the highest ranking any K-POP girl group has gotten in the chart with their own single.
The previous record, also set by BLACKPINK, was 'Kill this Love' placing 41st back in April last year.
BLACKPINK have also placed 55th with 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' on 2018, and have also placed 93rd from a collab with British pop artist Dua Lipa on 'Kiss and Make up'.
The 'Hot 100' is a chart that combines streaming count, album sales, and radio plays to calculate a single's popularity. If the main album chart 'Billboard 200' is closely connected with a fandom's size, the 'Hot 100' is connected with a song's mainstream appeal.
The single alo placed within the top 20 in the British Official Chart's singles category, setting the same record as the highest placing a song by a K-POP girl group has gotten.
