Starship Entertainment revealed a 'coming soon' poster for the subunit on September 22nd through their official social media pages, gaining some attention.
The revealed 'coming soon' image had cute emotes and comfy hearts, leading to a more gleeful feeling. Within the pink circle itself, we see the silhouette of the members wearing ribbon headbands, leading to speculation on who will be part of this new subunit. The poster also revealed the release date for the unit's first single, 'Hmph', being October 7th, 2020.
Cosmic Girls have released their album 'Neverland' in June, which was based on the story of 'Peter Pan', and filled with moody music that broke their weekly sales records. Its title track 'Butterfly' had a refreshing melody and a rousing performance that led to them winning two different msuic broadcasts. The American publication 'Billboard' also shone a spotlight on their new songs as well as revealing an interview with them, and as such it will be interesting to see how they will perform as a subunit.
Debuting on 2016 with the track 'MoMoMo', Cosmic Girls have continued to release hits such as 'Secret', 'I Wish', and 'Save Me, Save You' that all show their mystical and emotional sensitivity. Last year showed them release songs such as 'La La Love', 'Boogie Up', and 'As You Wish' that continued their unique musical styles and performances, constructing their own musical tastes. The 13 members themselves also showed their artistic merits in acting, variety TV, OSTs, and more.
