[MHN Lee Jisook reporter / translated by Jung Halim] Group BTS will be keeping their No. 1 spot on the American Billboard 'Hot 100' with their latest single 'Life Goes On'.

American music chart Billboard revealed on November 30th that the BTS single 'Life Goes On' had taken a historic No.1 on the 'Hot 100'.

Billboard wrote, "The song is the South Korean septet's third Hot 100 No. 1, all in a span of three months, following "Dynamite" and Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo's "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)," the latter of which led aided by BTS remixes." According to Billboard, 'Life Goes On' is the first pre-dominantly non-English track that climbed to No. 1 since 'Despacito'.

Billboard utilized Nielsen Music / MRC Data to calculate that the weekly data for November 26th showed that the single had 14.9 million streams and sold 150 thousand copies. Additionally, the weekly stats for November 29th showed that they had 410 radio broadcast points.

This is BTS' third 'Hot 100' No.1 in just three months, starting with 'Dynamite'. According to Billboard, the last time a group had a similar record was with the Bee Gees, who climbed had three No.1s over two months and three weeks 42 years ago. Similarly, the last time a group had their 'first' three No.1s this quickly was with The Beatles, who had their first No.1s in two months and three days.

'Dynamite' also hit a rebound with the release of 'BE', rising back again from No. 14 to No. 3. BTS are also the first group to have two singles in the Top 5 of the 'Hot 100' since The Black Eyed Peas back in 2009.

BTS first hit the No.1 milestone with their digital single 'Dynamite' back in September 5th, which held its placement for two weeks straight, starting a new chapter for Korean artists. The remix 'Savage Love', which they featured on, also hit the 'Hot 100' on October 17th at No.1.

The group has also left another large on the music industry with their new album 'BE'.

BTS' latest album 'BE' and its lead single 'Life Goes On' climbed to the top of the 'Hot 100' and the 'Billboard 200', captuting Billboard's two main charts at the same time. According to Billboard, the only artist to have a No.1 on both charts in the same week is Taylor Swift.

Alongside this record, BTS have also had a first on 'Top Album Sales', 'Digital Song Sales', showing the group's global reach.

BTS have spread a message of hope and energy with 'Dynamite' in 'BE', something sorely needed in a world suffering from the spread of COVID-19. Especially of not is 'Life Goes On', which says how the pandemic has us in a situation no one wants, life still goes on, moving the hearts of those listening to BTS' comforting words.

The new album 'BE' is also special for having all seven members participate in the album creating process from start to finish. The albums style and design, the concept photos and clips, the music videos, and of course the album's eight tracks had no place not touched by BTS' own hands.
