
[MHN Jung Halim reporter] Girl group Blackpink are set to open their first online concert with Youtube Music.
Agency YG Entertainment announced that on December 27th they will stream the concert 'YG PALM STAGE - 2020 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW' through Youtube.
'YG PALM STAGE' is a new livestream concert brand from YG, and with a partnership with Youtube Music is set to release concert videos through the platform.
YG stated that Blackpink are the first world artists to partner with Youtube and to stream on the platform.
Lyor Cohen, Youtube's Global Head of Music, stated, "BLACKPINK are one of the biggest and best artists in the world and we’re so honored to be partnering with such great talent and the YG team for this first-ever, can’t miss livestream experience. What a great way to end the year and celebrate BLACKPINK and their YouTube fans around the world!"
Blackpink currently have around 53.9 million subscribers on their Youtube channel, the second highest for music act.
This will be their first concert in a year and five months, the last one being their world tour.
In the meantime, they had been releasing multiple singles and albums, increasing their share in the global music market.
Starting with their collaboration with Lady Gaga on the track 'Sour Candy', they had their singles 'How You Like That' and 'Ice Cream' rank high on the Billboard 'Hot 100'. Their first full length album 'The Album' ranked second in the 'Billboard 200'.
You can watch their first online concert 'The Show' through a paid subscription to their official Youtube channel.
On December 4th, Blackpink will be discussing various stories about 'The Show' with fans through Youtube.
