[MHN Lee Jisook reporter / translated by Jung Halim] Group BTS continues to show their influence around the world, especially in the Billboard charts.
On January 12th, Billboard reported that on their most recent list of charts, the BTS single "Dynamite" hit both No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Excl. US charts. This will be the fourth time "Dynamite" placed first on both charts.
Established last year, both the Global 200 and the Global Excl. US charts calculate based on streaming and sales from over 200 regions across the globe, with BTS climbing to the top of both charts twelve times.
After its release on August 21st, "Dynamite" has also performed well on other Billboard charts this week. Currently "Dynamite" placed No. 25 on the Hot 100, No. 3 on the Digital Song Sales chart, No. 12 on Adult Pop Song, No. 16 on Adult Contemporary Pop Song, No. 31 on Radio Song, and No. 36 on the Streaming Song categories.
Released on November 20th last year, their latest project "BE (Deluxe Edition)" and its lead single "Life Goes On" are still staying strong within the chart itself. "BE" placed No. 39 on the Billboard 200, No. 1 on World Album, No. 5 on Idependent Album, No. 9 on Top Current Album Sales, and No. 11 on Top Album Sales. "Life Goes On" placed on No. 2 on World Digital Song Sales, and No. 43 on the Global Excl. US charts.
BTS have also had the highest selling album in the US for 2020 with last February's "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7", and with their albums placing first and second on the end of the year placements for 2020 on Gaon Charts, they have confirmed their place in the music industry.
