[MHN Jeeyoung Shin reporter] On May 6, boy group SHAX canceled the schedule for this week's episode of KBS2's "Music Bank" due to the staff’s COVID-19 test.
The group announced via its official SNS:
"We were recently notified that a staff member who was present on the set of a program featuring SHAX members has tested positive for COVID-19. To prevent the further spread of COVID-19, SHAX's performance on KBS's 'Music Bank' tomorrow has been canceled. We ask fans for their understanding."
SHAX Facts Shax is the 5-member fictive K-Pop idol group from the drama ‘Imitation.’ Based on the hit webtoon of the same title, the drama tells about idols' lives in the entertainment industry. The members of Shax are made of U-KISS's Jun, Yuri, Ahn Jung Hoon, SF9's Hwiyoung, and ATEEZ's Jongho. They have a dark concept, debuted under NOG Entertainment and have fandoms named Fins.
The group will appear on the upcoming KBS2 drama series ‘Imitation.' Previously in May, a back dancer who performed with members of SF9, IKON, and The Boyz during a recording for Mnet’s ‘Kingdom’ had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. As a result, all the competitors of ‘Kingdom’ should undergo COVID-19 testing, and are limiting with any schedules while the results come out.
Meanwhile, SHAX will drop their first comeback single ‘MALO’ later today on May 7 at midnight KST.
