Seoul's Lantern Festival will be held until November 19th over the 1.3km section that starts from the Cheonggye Stream Plaza up to Gwansu Bridge.
With only 90 days left until the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Seoulites are gathering at the Cheonggye Stream Plaza to witness the once-a-year festival of wondrous lights. Since 2009, this "light up" festival has been one of Seoul's most anticipated event in November.
Starting every first Friday of November until the third Sunday of the month, the event lasts for 17 days with over 3 million visitors every year. Visitors come to see the beautiful and unique arrays of stories in lights at this festival.
Inspired by the upcoming Winter Olympics, this year's theme is 'Pyeongchang Olympics in Lights' with one of Korea's most popular character 'Pororo' and his friends aligning the long walk in creative and colorful lights.
