[MHN.Korea.com] The payment issues of group Wanna One has been a hot issue lately.
Earlier in March 19, there was an accident at Mnet's 'Star Live'. Before the stage went on air, personal talks among members were uploaded online causing many controversies.
Most of the talks were complaints about their avid fans, hectic schedule, and payment issues. Some say they heard cursing words and sexual jokes but fans asked for a sound examination to clarify accusations of the group talking foul language.
Other than the group talking explicit language, their payment issue has been brought up. According to the revealed recordings of 'Star Live', one of the members said, "How come we only receive 20%?".
Another press recently released an article assuming the percentage of payment each member of the group would possibly receive. It opened doors for more people to wonder about the exact percentage share of the group's payment.
According to Wanna One's source, all profit gained as the group is distributed in different percentages. CJ E&M takes 25%, their management label YMC Entertainment takes the other 25%. The remaining 50% goes to each of the members' label and then divided once more. Since all eleven members are in different labels under different contract conditions, the specific payment details are unknown.
Another press announced that "usually, a label and artist would divide profit in a 5:5 or 7:3 ratio", therefore assumed each member would personally receive around 200,000,000 to 300,000,000 won.
However, other sources are saying the actual number would differ since each member's contract conditions are not revealed.
YMC Entertainment stated at a recent interview that they do not know how much each member receives specifically.
