[MHN.Korea.com] On 'Wednesday Food Talk', Hwang Gyo Ik talked about how ramyeon was popularized.
On the last episode of tvN's 'Wednesday Food Talk', ramyeon was the main dish. Being a favorite late-night snack to Koreans, cooking contents creator SOF, designer Kim Seok Won and comedian Ji Sang Ryeol featured as guests.
Hwang first opened up by saying, "There's a deep relationship between ramyeon being popularized and the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution brought longer working hours even at night, and since more people were being awake in the night time, more people got hungry."
He kept on saying, "Broadcasts started airing more commercials of ramyeon that was easy to cook and eat, so the demand naturally soared."
